Sweet Heart Polish Swatch And Review

Hello my fellow polish addicts! Today's post features some amazing polishes from Sweet Heart Polish! I was so happy to get the chance to meet the fun and wonderful creator of Sweet Heart Polish, Cassandra, when I attended the Sparkle & Wine event at Cosmoprof a couple weeks ago. I brought home with me four gorgeous pretties, so let's get to them!

First up we have "Dahlia", which is a gorgeous holo purple jelly polish with purple flakes! I'm really starting to enjoy jelly polishes with added holo. I don't have many right now, but I want to buy them all! "Dahlia" is so perfect! Formula and dry time were great! I used three coats with top coat for my pictures!

Next up is "Storm In The Rose Garden", which is a light dusty pink crelly polish with rose, burgundy, and white glitters as well as added holo dust. This polish is so stunning! It's so delicate and girly. I love it. The formula and dry time were great in this as well. I used three coats plus top coat for my pictures.

Next up is "Magic Carpet Ride", which is a glitter topper in a clear base that includes brown, copper, rose, and turquoise glitters. This polish is inspired by the Disney classic "Aladdin". This polish gives me those indescrible feelings that Jasmine sings about when she's soaring, tumbling, freewheeling through an endless diamond sky! Formula and dry time were great on this one. I used two coats over Julep "Savoy" for my pictures.

The last polish I have for you today is "Steam Boat Willie" which is a clear base glitter topper with black, white, and iridescent glitters, as well as silver holo mickeys. Yay! More Mickey glitter polish! I am obsessed with Mickey glitters since they are an instant Disney mani. We all know how I love my Disney! Formula is great with great dry time. I used two coats, with glitter placement for the Mickey glitters, over China Glaze "Spring In My Step" plus top coat.

As with my other Sweet Heart Polish babies, (which you can find the swatch and review of here if you missed them) I love all of these so much! Cassandra is a girl after my own Disney heart and I am SO glad I had the chance to meet her! Which of these do you love? If you'd like to purchase any of these, they are available in the Sweet Heart Polish shop here. Girly Bits Polish Swatch And Review

Hello there lacquernistas! Today's post features a brand new to me indie brand, Girly Bits Cosmetics! I have known of and followed Girly Bits for quite some time, but I just have never had a chance to grab any of their beautiful lacquers. So this set of polishes had me super excited. I received this set from the Sparkle & Wine event at Cosmoprof North America this year, which was put on by the creator of Girly Bits, Pam Heil and the beautiful Christy Rose of KB Shimmer. I am still so greatful for that event and enjoyed meeting Pam and every one else. I have three beautiful polishes to show you, so let's get to it!

First up is a LE polish that was made exclusively for Cosmoprof called "What Happens In Vegas... Ends Up On Instagram"(WHIVEUOI). This gorgeous fuchsia polish has so much sparkle, including purple shifting flakies and red micro glitters, and who could forget the scattered holo! This polish has it all and I am absolutely in love with it. Especially since I love pinks and holos oh so much! All things I love in one polish has me screaming "Yes!". The formula on this was a tad thick, but it did not make application difficult at all. There is so much glitter in it that it dries a tad gritty, but top coat fixes all that no problem. Pam will be making this beautiful polish available for everyone to purchase in her shop very soon, and she is changing up the formula a little bit so that it will not be as thick, but still just as sparkly. So no worries about that! I used two coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Sun Light)

Next up is "Supersonic", which is a neon yellow jelly with gold and blue shimmer as well as blue flecks. I love neon. I wear neon in the dead of winter, and I don't care what anyone says about it. Adding another gorgeous neon to my collection does not upset me one bit! The formula was great, with great dry time. I used three coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures below.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Sun Light Macro To Show Shimmer)

Lastly for today, I have "Darkly Dreaming", which is a dark green jelly with copper shimmer. I own NOTHING like this! I usually don't gravitate to darker polishes, but this one is just so pretty with that copper shimmer, how can you resist? Well, I can't. Formula was great on this one with a great dry time as well. I used three coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures.

For my first Girly Bits polishes, I am greatly impressed and would not think twice about purchasing more gorgeous polishes in the future. It helps that the creator, Pam, is super sweet as well. What do you think of these polishes? Are you interested in the LE WHIVEUOI polish? If you are, make sure you are following girly bits on Facebook and Instagram @girlybitscosmetics so that you can keep up to date on the release. Rumor has it, a limited release of last year's cosmoprof exclusive polish "What Happens In Vegas... Ends Up On Facebook" will also be happening! I hope you enjoyed today's post! Please be sure to follow my blog, to see more of Polished And Shined! Until next time, Happy Polishing!

KB Shimmer 6th Anniversary Trio Swatch And Review

Hello my lovely lacquernistas! I have a great post for you today featuring the awesome indie brand KB Shimmer, who is coming up on their 6th anniversary. To celebrate this joyus occasion they are releasing an anniversary trio of gorgeous polishes! I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with the amazing Christy of KB Shimmer at the Sparkle & Wine event a couple weeks ago and it was such a great honor. She is very sweet and down to earth. I really enjoyed it. I brought home these beauties from that event and I am super excited to share them with you, so let's get to it.

First up is "Beach Please", which is a bright pink creme that is almost neon that also leans a little purple. This polish is fantastic! Until these polishes, I have never tried any of KB Shimmer's cremes, but I will for sure look at them more after this. The formula on "Beach Please" was perfection. Dry time was great as well. I only needed two coats to get this gorgeous polish opaque. Shown below is two coats with top coat.

(Indoor Light Box)

Next up is another beautiful creme polish called "Shore Thing", which is described as "a bright aqua-mint creme with blue-green undertones." This is now my favorite aqua EVER! It is absolutely so gorgeous, and I love the way it looks on my nails. Yes I'm a mermaid, and yes this polish makes me feel even more like one. Formula and dry time on this were great as well. I only needed two coats with top coat for this as well.

(Indoor Light Box)

Next up is "Hexy Bikini", which is a textured polish with holo glitters in silver, teal and pink. This polish is so blingy and I love it! Since this is a textured polish you can choose to wear it with or without top coat. The choice is totally up to you. I show pics both ways below. The texture on this isn't all that rough though, so if you're not a big fan of texture, I think you'd still be okay with this polish. The formula on this is perfect as well and the glitter coverage is great. I used two coats with and without top coat for my pictures below, and was able to get it opaque with just those two coats. I think I prefer this one with top coat because when you add that top coat, the sparkle on this polish is outta control! Look for yourself!

One of the last things I want to have in this post for you guys is KB Shimmer's nail vinyls. They have such a big selection of designs to choose from that you will for sure find something that pleases you. Including tribal designs! I have not seen those from anyone else yet so I think that's pretty great. They are really simple to use and they make nail art super easy. Below I have pictures of myself using the scallop design.

Simply place the decals on your completely dry nails where you would like them.

Then paint over them with your choice of color and remove them immediately.

Then top coat, and viola! Instant simple and quick nail art!

So what do you think of the new Special Edition KB Shimmer 6th anniversary polishes? If you are looking to purchase any of these they will be releasing on August 1st at www.KBShimmer.com and also at www.HarlowandCo.org . The cremes will retail for $7.50 each and the texture polish will retail for $8.50. For a limited time these three will also be available for purchase as a trio for $21 only at www.KBShimmer.com . Make sure you are following them on instagram @kbshimmer  and also be sure to like their Facebook page to keep up with all things KB Shimmer and also to enter their summer giveaway! I Hope you enjoyed this post today! I know I did! Until next time, happy polishing.

Serum No 5 polish, cuticle serum, and nail vinyls review

Hello my lovely lacquernistias! Today I have a post from the lovely Serum No 5! I have had the pleasure of meeting the creator of Serum No 5, Victoria, twice in the last year. Both times were at an event during Cosmoprof here in Vegas. This year I was fortunate enough to try lots of new things from Serum No 5 and I am going to share those things with you today! The only thing I do not have a review of from the picture below is the white tea ginger lime scrub. I can tell you however, that it smells delicious! :-) Let's get to it!

Serum No 5 is turning two! To celebrate this amazing anniversary, Victoria created a fun and unique polish called "Another year, let's cheer!' that will be released on July 24th! It showcases glitters that are in the same colors as the brands logo, such as white, gray, black, peach and mint. It also glows a blueish green in the dark, which is something Serum No 5 has become known for. Also included in this gorgeous fun polish, as if it could get ANY better, is a light holo dust that really makes it sparkle! I really love this polish. I think it is perfect for an anniversary polish and I love how it is all things Serum No 5 in one bottle. Formula on this one is great. Plenty of glitter coverage and no need to fish for any of them. Dry time was great on this as well. I used two coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures. I only used two coats because I like the way this polish looks in just two coats. If you want more coverage though, you could easily dab on a third coat to get it closer to full glitter coverage.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Indoor Light Box Macro)

(Glow Shot)

Next up is a polish that screams my name just when looking at the bottle. "Just Add Water" is a ocean water blue shimmery jelly with various shapes and sizes of holo blue and holo green glitters, as well as various shapes and sizes of white glitters. This of course says Mermaid to me, so once again, all things mermaid, I'm in love with. I am so glad I received this beautiful polish. Formula and dry time were perfect on this one. I used three coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Indoor Light Box Macro)

Lastly for the polishes in this post is a highly interesting and unique polish called "Flashing Lights". This polish is so crazy awesome! It is a silver shimmery top coat that has a little extra flare. When applied on a bare nail without a top coat the polish looks like this:

(Indoor Light Box)

But when you take this baby into the dark and turn on a flash it gets CRAZY! I have never seen anything like this polish. It actually reflects the light back and makes it look so amazing! It is suggested to use without a base color or a top coat for maximum reflectiveness. The formula and dry time on this are great just like other Serum polishes. I used three coats without top coat for my pictures.

(In The Dark With Flash)

Next up is another something new coming to Serum No 5 and that is Cut It Out Vinyls! Victoria will be offering different designs which include the themes Anchors Away (whales, crabs), Life's A Beach (dolphin, palm trees), Lovely Magic (Unicorn, stars), Queen Bee (bees, hives) and Under The Sea (mermaids, seahorses). I received the Lovely Magic set, but I think I'm gonna need the Under The Sea set as well. :-) Nail vinyls make nail art so much quicker and easier. Especially if you want designs on your nails but you're short on time. These nail vinyls from Serum are great! They can be used in a variety of different ways. You can use them as nail stickers and leave them on your nail covered with top coat, you can use them as stencils for your whole nail, or you can take the cut out pieces and arrange them however you want to on your nails, paint over them and remove them. I used the last technique with these stars this time. The nail vinyls stick really well to the nail. If using them as stickers that are going to stay on your nails I believe they will stick and stay perfectly. I had to really tug on a few of these to take them off. :-) I'll walk you through what I did with these vinyls in the pictures below.

I tried really hard to take pictures of the whole sheet so you could see all of the designs. this proved a little harder than I expected, but I hope you can see them. Now for the walk through on how to use them.

Here I am showing a full nail stencil on the left, and showing the cut out stars to use as stickers or paint over them and remove them on the right.

I chose to place the stars on my nails over a gradient so that I could remove them. Make sure your base is completely dry before doing this or the stencils will pull up your base color. I suggest using a quick dry top coat over your base and letting that dry completely before placing the nail vinyls.

I then painted black over them

I then removed the stars (Which I think I need a tad more practice on, or sharper tweezers lol) as quickly as possible before the black dried.

I did this to all of my nails to create this look :-)

I really like this look. This look could also be achieved using the full nail stencil. You would just paint your base color as black, top coat it and let it dry completely, then place the full nail stencil on your nail and sponge your gradient on. I really like these nail vinyls and will definitely need to visit her site for the Under The Sea ones.

The last thing for this post today is Serum No 5 cuticle serum. Now, I am obsessed with cuticle oils and cremes and I live in the desert, so I am constantly applying them all day long. I love this applicator because I know I can throw it in my purse and not have to worry about it opening and leaking every where. Plus the applicator is so nice to be able to just brush on where you need it. This serum doesn't have a scent listed on it, and I'm kind of bad at describing scents, but this one smells really citrus like. Very refreshing. It also seems to soak in fairly quickly, but not so quickly that it isn't able to sit for a little bit to absorb all the nutrients your cuticles need. The ingredients for this serum are as follows: Jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, and essential oils. I love it! I cannot comment on what it does specifically for dry rough cuticles, because as I stated, I use all kinds of oils and cremes all day long and my cuticles are not in bad shape.

I really hope you enjoyed todays post with all of the amazing things from Serum No 5. Don't forget the Anniversary polish "Another year, let's cheer" and the cut it out nail vinyls will be available in the serum shop here on July 24th at 12pm cst. Be sure you are following Serum No 5 on Facebook and instagram @serumno5 for all news and updates on all of the amazing things they have to offer. Anything in this post catch your eye? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much for stopping by and reading. Please follow via GFC or subscribe via email if you'd like to see more of my posts! Until next time, happy polishing!

Model City Polish Pour Me Another And Fairy Fight

Hello my lovely lacqueristas! For the next few weeks I will be sharing with you a TON of indies, some of which I haven't had the pleasure of owning before. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend an event at this year's Cosmoprof North America called Sparkle & Wine which was put on by the amazing and sweet Christy of KB Shimmer and the equally amazing and sweet Pam of Girly Bits Cosmetics. During this event I had a chance to mingle with some incredibly talented indie makers, as well as some very inspiring bloggers. I cannot wait to share with you all of the goodies I came home with, but today we are starting with Model City Polish!

Before this event I did not own any Model City Polish. I'm not entirely sure why because once I dove into swatching and swatched the two polishes I'm sharing with you today, I was in l.o.v.e! The formula and dry times were wonderful and these colors are simply amazing.
Also included in this gift was a mini glass nail file which is something I always need more of right? This one is small and compact, so I can take it with me when I leave the house and I can stow it away in one of my side pockets in my purse so I don't have to worry about it being mixed in with all my other junk that somehow finds its way into my seemingly never ending purse. These files will retail for $5 for a pack of three mini files and $8 for a pack of three full size files.
Another goodie tucked into this gift was a cuticle oil in the scent strawberry jam. This smells SO good! Strawberry jam indeed! I could seriously sit here and smell my fingers all day long with this stuff on. It soaks into my cuticles fairly quickly and that wonderful scent lasts for a good while. The ingredients listed on this oil are, almond oil, avocado oil, enriched with Vitamins A, B, C, & E and fragrance oils. I love it, and I actually have it on as I type this. Yummy! These cuticle oils will retail for $3 for a mini size and $4.50 for a full size and are available in a variety of scents that are sure to please.
Now for the pretty polish! I received two bottles in my gift bag. I have for you today "Pour Me Another" and "Fairy Fight". Both gorgeous! So let's dive right in shall we?

First up is "Pour Me Another" which is described as "a mixture of jelly and crelly wine colored blend with a hint of pink and then loaded with holographic goodness." Holographic goodness is right!  Excuse me while I die! This polish was created specifically for the Sparkle & Wine event, but fear not my fellow holo lovers! This polish is being released today at 3pm cst in their shop here so that you may also get your hands on this beauty! It will retail for $10.50 for a full size bottle, with a 5 free formula. If you don't look at this polish and absolutely NEED it, then I don't know what you're thinking. I used two coats with HK Girl by Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Outdoor Sun Light)

Next up is "Fairy Fight", which is described as "a light purple crelly packed with tiny pink and blue shards. The shards have a slight sparkle in sunlight and adds a magical touch to this Sleeping Beauty inspired blend." This polish is gorgeous and so unique to me. I love the subtle shimmer that it has that just adds a nice little sparkle to an already beautiful polish. I used two coats with HK Girl Glisten & Glow top coat for my pictures.

(Indoor Light Box)

(Indoor Light Box Macro To Show Slight Shimmer)

Well, as a first timer with Model City Polish, I have to say I am throughly impressed and completely hooked now. I love the formulas of the polishes and the smell of the cuticle oil is just delicious! If you would like to get your hands on these products you can do so in their shop here when they open today at 3pm cst. Be sure to follow them on instagram @modelcitypolish and Facebook to keep up with all news and updates. Let me know in the comments below what you think of these products! And to make sure you don't miss out on any of my goodies from the Sparkle & Wine event make sure you follow via GFC or subscribe via email to get all of my updates! Until next time, Happy Polishing!
