Alter Ego Nail Enamel Swatch And Review

Hello my beautiful readers! Today's post features two polishes from Alter Ego Nail Enamel. I have had the pleasure of meeting Cynthia, the creator, the last two years at Cosmoprof. She is such a sweet woman and I hope I get the chance to make it to a meet up for this years Cosmoprof and meet her again. Let's get into these polishes though!

First up is "Victorian Rose", which is a rose/red polish with a brown undertone. This polish dries to a matte finish. The great thing about that, is you can leave it matte, or add a top coat to bring out a subtle sparkle. I like it either way. I ended up with a wonky brush for this polish, but made it work. The formula was okay, it dries super fast so I had a bit of dragging happen when I tried to do thin coats. I ended up having to do three coats to get it evened out, but really like the matte look in the end. If you get this polish just use slightly thicker coats than you normally would and all should be fine. I took pictures with and without top coat to show the differences.

The second polish I have to share with you today is "Does The Splits" which is a glitter polish in a sheer shimmery silver/grey base. Glitter colors include brown, yellow, red and white, which definitely remind me of a banana split. :-) I really like the uniqueness of this polish. At first I wasn't too sure of it, but when I put it on, the look it gives is quite cool. Formula was good, I didn't really need to fish for any glitters. I used three coats with top coat for my pictures.
